I'm Cass, and I write the sort of stories I love to read - heart-warming, character driven and strong on location. I lean heavily towards the upbeat in both my reading and my writing.
As one of my favourite authors, Jane Austen, once wrote, ‘let other pens dwell on guilt and misery’.

Curiouser and curiouser said Alice and rightly so! Who is it that is observing the Bennets or more Elizabeth? *shudders* I’m getting nervous now!
And what of Bingley, Wentworth and Jane — I cannot decide who I like the best but somehow Wentworth is taking the lead for me that is!
Argh come on Cass! The back and forth with Elizabeth and Darcy is delightful but omg can’t there soon be a development between them? An honest talk or something similar???
The twins are so delightful and funny, a real pleasure to read, as they obviously are there as to introduce humour into the story! And well done on it!

There’s nothing for them to have an honest talk about really, Sophia – not yet! Darcy isn’t blind to where he’s headed, but Lizzy doesn’t yet realise how deep she is.
I’m sorry if you are frustrated, but I can’t suddenly rush them into something I don’t believe their characters are quite ready for. 😦

I know Cass but it is soooooooo very annoying that Lizzie refuses to look into her feelings and realize how deep she continuously fall for Darcy but I know you will make them see sense at the proper time! Can’t wait to see what is next, hopefully more mischief with the twins?

Don’t worry! Lizzy can’t really keep denying the obvious, it just needs a few things to chip away at her first. 😉
You have to bear in mind it’s only just coming up a week since Darcy returned to Derbyshire, so she’s only seen him for less than a week, the first time since he handed her his letter in Kent!

The ‘snake’ is back but I am surprised no one has seen him yet. I am surprised Bingley seems so calm at the moment. I realize he has decided to renew his acquaintance with Miss Bennet but she always seems to be with Wentworth! The twins are pulling Elizabeth towards Bingley and Georgiana is wanting to invite her to tea! Argh! You have us on tenterhooks…bubble, bubble, boil and trouble! Two more days until the next installment! Have I told you I am loving this story!!!!!

Arg–such sweet torture! I love it! Lizzy is beginning to irritate me, though, with her stubborn refusal to admit what she really feels, and Jane–of COURSE they should tell Darcy about the flowers. Duh! Just talk to each other, people! Lol. Really enjoying this, Cass, thanks for writing it!

Well, I believe Lizzy to be quite a stubborn person (at least, in this story, that is how I have written her), so she is going to fight her feelings a little, plus she has never been in love before, so she doesn’t recognise the early signs. Darcy, in the meantime, has been there before, with the same person, so he knows his danger! 😉
I agree; of course they should speak about the flowers, but that’s because we think we know it’s worth it! lol

I too am sitting on the fence as far as Jane and Bingley/Wentworth are concerned.
………………………and oh those twins! Delightful! They are going to cause so many problems that a good heart to heart with the ‘victims’ is the only way forward!!!!

Oh, everything was going swimmingly in this chapter right up until that final paragraph. Was there indeed someone hiding in the trees by the churchyard? I’ve got goosebumps now!
I’m still inclined to hope that Jane ends up with Reverend Wentworth, despite whatever tricks the twins may get up to. We all know they’ve got no hope steering her and Darcy towards each other, or their brother and Elizabeth for that matter. And now Georgiana is inviting Elizabeth to tea. He won’t be able to stay away surely? I wonder what excuse he’ll find to turn up at some point.
A suspicion has begun to speculate about the merest possibility of crossing my mind (stole that from Douglas Adams, I’m not afraid to admit) regarding someone. I’m not saying anything yet though, just in case I end up with egg on my face!

Could it have been Colonel Fitzwilliam who put the flowers on the graves because Darcy asked him to? Darcy knew that Elizabeth wanted to visit the graves. When she finds out that it was Darcy who made it possible, her heart will melt. Well, this is my theory at the moment, as colonel Fitzwilliam would also wear regimentals. As for the person lurking in the shadows, it might still be Whickham. It is strange that some of the neighbours would not see him and recognise him, as he is really a local. So much to think about.😨 I am thinking of writing a what if story to your story, Cass. I mean great praise with that comment. You inspire me to think of what ifs. I am taking great pleasure in the reading. After all, someone once said, ” I declare there is no enjoyment like reading”.

I am loving this story and looking forward to each installment since I finally caught up. So far I am preferring the minister, Wentworth, for Jane. They seem to fit so well. Bingley was weak and has a nasty sister (the twins, though are fun). Hard to imagine Wickham actually caring enough to put flowers on graves, but he could well be lurking around watching those connected with Darcy and Georgiana. I like the idea of Darcy having the Colonel Fitzwilliam place flowers on the graves. Wickham should not have known where Mr. Bennet and his daughters were. It gets creepy if someone is watching. I keep hoping for Lizzy and Darcy to grow in understanding and attraction. I do not know about Bingley.

The twins, at an age when they think they know more than they actually know. Half the time you want to hug them, the other not so much.
And Georgians, I like that she does not dwell at Elizabeth’s rejection of her brother but instead embraces the goodness of her that her brother put forward. They are going to become fast friends, and rightly so.
Oh, Darcy, you are definitely in too deep. What will your future guests think when your mind is always preoccupied?

Excellent chapter. I am glad you always include a bit of an interaction between ODC in each chapter. I am hoping for this to grow and for Elizabeth to come to terms with her own feelings. 🙂

I’m definitely feeling “goosebumpish” with Elizabeth’s sensations of being watched. Of course, combined with the news of the flowers on the graves at Hertfordshire, it seems fairly plain who the stalker is.

Really enjoying this story. I hadn’t thought about Colonial Fitzwilliam putting the flowers on the grave, sounds like another lovely idea of Darcy’s. Perhaps Elizabeth will mention about the flowers and Wickham to Darcy when she goes to tea at Pemberley? As to the lurker, I hope it’s only Wickham’s goast and that he really is dead. I would hate him to bring any more trouble to Elizabeth and the Bennetts! Will just have to wait and see.

Enjoyed this chapter and Darcy’s decision regarding his presence st the church services. Now I suppose we await the arrival of the lady he has decided to court… and the ensuing angst that will bring us! Thank you for sharing this chapter.

I just “found” your story yesterday and could not stop reading. I love it! I also wondered if Darcy had had Col. Fitzwilliam put the flowers on the grave, but after this chapter I’m second guessing myself. I hope the twins are still there when Miss Latimer arrives. They should be able to save Darcy from making the mistake of spending his time with her.

So Lizzy feels comfortable enough to touch Mr. Darcy – to comfort even. Progress for our stubborn little lady.
Man in regimentals… as much as I wish Wickham had a change of heart or was feeling guilty about what happened, I think Charlotte would have known Wickham, and so would have the other townspeople. It must be the Colonel! (I love reading other people’s comments!)
Oh dear, someone is still lurking about in the shadows. Maybe, if it is Wickham, the Colonel gets to do away with him again, like in AFP. Should be very entertaining if it does happen that way 🙂
