I'm Cass, and I write the sort of stories I love to read - heart-warming, character driven and strong on location. I lean heavily towards the upbeat in both my reading and my writing.

And the so called ghost ‘ghost’ is nothing more than signals between thiefs i am sure!

Oh my! Thank God Thursday is not that far! That last scene was amazing, Cass. That he said she would always have his protection….awwww….my heart melt there. And the kiss!!! I can’t wait for Darcy to talk to Latimer and be done with them for good! Oh, the anticipation! I feel like Mrs Bennet here!! lol.

Oh Hang the Library! They were behind the curtain in the alcove together and then later he Kissed her cheek. Oh sigh, oh swoon, oh flutter my heart. But … what about the morrow. I would like to say Hang the morrow but he has to deal with Latimer and Lizzy has to watch it all as though she was a disinterested party. Teasing authoress.

I am a little afraid for Elizabeth when the Latimers arrive. I don’t know if they will be very snobbish and kind of treat her with contempt, especially if they realize there is something going on between Darcy and her (some stolen glances…). It is a very hard position to be in. I hope it is over quickly, Cass.

Squee! He kissed her cheek! Nope, not at all disappointed. Their time in the hallway was perfect — hiding behind a tapestry — divine! I also love that they both feel uncomfortable about the imminent arrival of the Latimers. I, on the other hand, expect great things to happen with Mr. Latimer. Darcy will have to prove that he is smarter than a fish. (That should be mighty entertaining.) I also wonder if once Mr. Latimer eventually perceives that Darcy has escaped his line, he will then cast it toward one of the other two men present. (Be afraid, Colonel, be very afraid.)

This is getting hot now! It’s a good job the Colonial didn’t find Darcy and Elizabeth behind the curtain, otherwise Darcy would have had some explaining to do, particularly with Elizabeth in her night clothes!!! Looking forward to Thursday’s installment Cass.

I am SO ready to read this through to the end. And no word from Mr. Bennet? The lights in the trees…Wickham setting out to steal some more poultry or rob a vegetable garden…is my supposition. Thanks for this chapter…like fish wiggling on a line we are caught and can only be released by coming to that HEA.

No definitely not disappointed after that encounter in the hallway…be still my heart! I’m thinking that the Colonel had a good idea what was happening. One would be able to ‘smell’ the candles after they were blown out! I’m sure he was smiling while humming! Then to hear how Mr. Latimer is ‘using’ his daughter to catch a ‘big fish’ leaves me wondering even more how his daughter really feels about all of this. I really don’t want to dislike her as she is a pawn in her father’s hands! Maybe she can fall in love with Wentworth?! The Colonel?!
Now we know the locket cannot be found and Mr. Bennet has gone north not south to London! The ‘ghost’ is more than a spectre and I am sure it is Wickham looking forward to showing his hand at just the right moment. Oh Darcy is definitely going to have his hands full with both men wanting ‘a pound of flesh’ from him! Thank goodness we don’t have to wait until next Tuesday for further details on the Latimer’s arrival! Be strong LIzzy!

But next time we’ll meet the Latimers…and Richard will likely be correct in Darcy’s dealings with Mr. Latimer. It’s not going to be pretty, and it’s probably going to cause Elizabeth much anguish.

Tuesdays are very busy for me and I only just finished reading this chapter. I am very well pleased with Darcy and Elizabeth’s time behind the curtain, the parting kiss and Darcy’s words…all ‘swoonworthy’. I am loving every minute.
PS: I am reading The Particular Charm of Miss Jane Austen. It helps a lot during the waiting times as well as being very enjoyable in itself.

Loved this chapter! I, too, was thinking that the Colonel probably was aware of who was behind the tapestry…and smirking as he made his way down the hall.
I’m thinking neither Darcy nor Lizzy will get much sleep after this latest encounter!

I enjoyed this chapter as usual, but am going to make some suppositions about future happenings. The one raiding the gardens and the strange “ghost” is Wickham. He somehow stole the necklace, and drew Mr. Bennet away, but his purpose alludes me. Has he not done enough damage to the Bennets? What more could he want? I cannot wait to find out!

To my mortification, this is the first I’ve read of this book! Should I wait for the formal publication or do you have an additional 30 chapters planned? I’m all atwitter at the thought of hiding in a dark alcove with Mr. Darcy!

Oh no disappointment here Cass, I enjoyed every min of this and all the chapters we have been so lucky as to read. The Tapestry scene reminded me of on in Harry Potter, “Lumos”, “Nox” LOL. Can’t wait for this to play out with the Latimer’s, should be interesting 🙂

I’m glad Darcy didn’t show Elizabeth the library. It was too predictable, as are several other choices to get them close together, and several scenes once they are together that you chose not to follow. This was fresher, and much more satisfying for the JAFF reader always wanting a new twist. Thanks!

*Sigh!*. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any more delicious than the previous chapter. And he kisses her on the CHEEK? Come on Darcy, you can do better than that! Ah, but then he wouldn’t be the honourable man we all know and love, would he?
Hmmm, the mystery grows deeper. The Ghost MUST be linked to Mr. Fox somehow, I’m thinking, especially with Alice’s latest reports of theft. I’m also wondering what will happen if some post arrives for Mr. Bennet from London whilst he’s away. Would Jane and Elizabeth think it necessary to open it?
At least, I’ve only got to wait till tomorrow for the next chapter!

I agree with Suzan. I liked the idea of “ghost-hunting,” if that’s what it is. I do hope it’s not too easy once the Latimers arrive. I’d like to see the father put up a bit of a fight!!
