Oh it was worth the wait… Glad you are on the mend Cass! I’ve been dying to find out where that silly Lydia is and if “Papa” will ever return… Lol… Now the lost locket turns up… This is getting good!

I am so happy you are feeling better, Cass!! And thank you for such a long chapter! So now they know where Lydia has been hiding and it is, I think, only a matter of time before she is found. But I didn’t like it that Mr Bennet is coming home, because then it means Elizabeth will leave Pemberley! I hope it will be a short leave since she will soon return as mistress. 😉
Anyway, I can’t wait to read more. I think it was Lydia who sold the locket.

Woo hoo! So glad to see you are back with this wonderful story! So… we now know where Lydia was and we now know where the locket is. I think those are both good things to know. We also know that Mr. Bennet will be home soon — he’s got a lot of splainin’ to do and I hope the Three Musketeers hold his feet to the fire until he fesses up.
Poor Elizabeth is still second guessing everything concerning Darcy when she is not with him. I think the only solution for her is to always be with him! 🙂

I had another thought (scary to think of me thinking). I wonder if the twins were able to see Lydia’s face clearly. It would really be a shock to Elizabeth and Jane if Viola were to draw Lydia’s face to prove that their apparation was real.

Yes, you are quite right. Elizabeth is more confident of Darcy’s constancy when she is with him and he’s making his awkward attempts and when she is not with him, the doubts creep in. I think your suggested solution is an excellent one! 😉

Definitely worth the wait for this action filled chapter! The search for Lydia, letter from Bennet and now the locket being found in the window of the pawnbroker?! Lydia what the heck have you been up to?! Or even worse Mr. Bennet – what is it that Wickham holds over him?!
And Miss Latimer, I do wonder if she is fancying Colonel Fitzwilliam? They would be a very sweet and interesting couple!
And my anticipation is growing with each chapter for when Darcy can FINALLY declare his feelings for Elizabeth! Can’t wait!
I do not think Elizabeth will wait to buy the locket!

It is sad to think of what Lydia has gone through during this past year, but I am more curious about who pawned the necklace. Did Mr. Bennet do it to raise money to pay Wickham, or will the pawn shop owner describe Lydia to her sister opening up a whole new set of worries for Lizzy.

I’ve never been a fan of Lydia Bennet in the original novel, but I must admit, I’m beginning to feel a bit sorry for her too, Lizzybel!

So glad you are feeling so much better to provide us with a chapter filled with wonderful little tidbits! Where do I begin?!
1. Poor Lydia…found crying and I am sure feeling all hope is lost!
2. Of course, Elizabeth would be feeling cautious…I think once she finds out about Lydia, she will expect Darcy would not be able to handle the scandal…silly girl!
3. Jane is avoiding Wentworth but she certainly understands Mr. Bingley! LOL!
4. The Colonel has definitely made a good impression on Miss Latimer! Would love to see how Mr. Latimer feels about that!
5. The locket has been found in a pawn shop…Mr. Bennet has sold it to pay Wickham! Evil man!
So looking forward to Thursday! Get plenty of rest in between!

Glad you are better. The locket … did Bennet sell it or did Lydia? Not so sure. I wish the girls would have shown Lizzy the picture of the ghost. I wonder if she captured Lydia’s face. If only these folks would communicate just a little better they might all get some where. AND I do think that the girls should be told about Lydia so that they can help. Hmmm….
PS What is this interest in Col Fitz? That gets another Hmmm….

Loved this chapter! Lydia is so close to being found, and I believe the twins will be the key to finding her. So, the country is growing on Miss Latimer. Miss Latimer is growing on me. She and the Colonel might make a good match after all.
Poor Lizzy, still feeling unsure of herself. Darcy needs to come home and set her mind at ease. 🙂 Looking forward to the next post.

Unfortunately, this was not delivered yesterday – my mail system is hit or miss with this story…but its allowed me to now read all the other comments at one time after I searched for and found this chapter. I agree with Jan about the twins possibly drawing Lydia’s face. If they were close enough to determine that she was crying, they were close enough to see her features.
As to the locket: why would Mr. Bennet pawn it and not inform his daughters? After all it was actually handed down and not his possession…I believe. And who would have known where to search…Lydia pops into my mind. But when would she have been able to sneak in undetected? …in the middle of the night when the servants were also asleep? But then how did she get to Derbyshire? Lydia had to have been brought there by someone who knew the country. BUT then, if it was Wickham, did he know of the Bennets having moved there or was it just a lucky coincidence? And Wickham obviously is somehow using Lydia’s existence to blackmail Bennet. BUT what is he threatening? Unless it is death…to abandon her? on the streets of London? If he abandons her here in Derbyshire she does know of her sisters and father being there, it seems. Am I wrong?
Yes, Miss Latimer’s questions about the Colonel seem to point at her having an interest in him and that pairing would solve many a problem for him.
Is Lydia strong enough to wield an axe and knock the lock off the tower? Clever enough to realize that is what she needs to do in the first place? I feel for her if she is entirely on her own and having to scrounge around for food and little heat for cold nights. Or is she able to cut apart logs to burn in the tower’s fireplace?
So many questions unanswered.
I am so glad that you are well or at least well enough to write. But don’t overexert yourself. Thank you for writing and take care.

So many questions and so many possibilities for answers!
Who gave Lydia the address of The Grange?
Did Wickham set up her hidey hole in the tower?
Did the twins see enough of her face to recognise her again, or possibly sketch her likeness?
Who stole the locket and sold it to the pawnbroker?
Why did Mr. Bennet go to Northumbria and why Northumbria in the first place?
Miss Latimer isn’t immune to a red coat either?
What will Jane say to Mr. Wentworth?
Can’t wait to read the next chapter, but got to go and do mundane things like housework and grocery shopping now. Strangely enough, hubby likes to eat from time to time!
