Oh Jane! Listen to your sister!
I’m wondering what is wrong with Georgiana? I’m hoping that Elizabeth somehow accompanies Anne when she returns home as I’m sure she would help Georgiana feel better and hopefully she will see a better side to Darcy, who will realise his error and get Bingley to return for Jane ASAP?

Don’t worry about Georgiana! She’s has been suffering with a severe cold and cough (Darcy mentions it in his letter to the colonel) and is taking a while to shake it off, hence Darcy wanting to take her to where he the climate should be milder than if they headed to Pemberley for Christmas.

  3. Omg that was interesting indeed 🧐 Jane is making me quite annoyed, even if her sentiments were quite practical minded of a woman in her situation
Lizzie, Anne and Charlotte strikes me as a good trio of friends and can’t wait to see where their friendship carries, my guess; a prolonged stay in Somerset-shire for all three girls? And of course a new meeting of Darcy and Elizabeth?
This story has certain small similarities to quest for mr Darcy and hints to earlier works of Cass 😉 so good to see the writing style again! Can’t wait for more!

Delighted you love it so far, Cindy! You won’t have to wait a week. I’ll post one or two chapters during the coming week!

  5. I won’t worry about Jane. I know you wouldn’t foist an unsuitable match on her.
Did I detect a hint of Elizabeth’s visit to Kellynch? Hmm…

  6. Jennifer Redlarczyk says:

Ugh! Jane seems pretty determined to go with Collins. If she gives no answer for the next two weeks, what can Lizzy accomplish in that time? Too bad Georgiana is ill, but maybe that will be a good place to reunite D&L? If that’s what you have in mind. Looking forward to more.

Jane is probably going to wind a few people up in this story (she’s not my favourite character), but I believe in happy endings, so I’ll just say that!

No! No! No! Jane just cannot, absolutely cannot commit to Mr. Collins. Oh, the horrors! Of course the Bingley sisters would be delighted, but E would hate D forever. Looking forward to the next posting. 🙂

  12. Deborah says:

Will Elizabeth join Charlotte to visit with Anne at Kellynch? I can’t think of better friends for Georgiana’s ease. Surely G’s brother would agree? Oh but then Jane would be left alone to Mrs B and Collins! Yikes!

Interesting. Hope Georgiana is not seriously ill. And so hope Jane doesn’t decide to sacrifice herself…married to Mr. Collins – ugh! Wondering where the “8 years” separation might come in. Thanks for this chapter.

    • Cass says:

It’s only five years separation in this story, Sheila. It takes place in 1811/12, following P&P’s timeline, so Captain Wentworth is presently at sea on the Laconia.

Thank you for posting this. Now I am already eager to read the rest of the story. It sure has me on edge. I wonder if Lizzy will go to Kellylynch and maybe even Jane. I

Time and time again you show me why Elizabeth Bennet is such a beloved character. I told myself I would take my time to read slowly so I don’t run out of chapters before they are posted… well like the 2 eldest Bennet sisters, I think I will be stubborn about this! Crossovers have always been interesting and I like how it feels so natural for both novel’s characters to be with each other.

    Ugh. Mr. Collins. Hahaha!

Yes! The sooner Richard comes to visit, the better! I can’t wait to read his and Darcy’s banter. You always do them justice. Jane…you haven’t liked a stupider person than Collins. Stay strong!!! LOL

What an interesting way to link the women through Charlotte. Enjoying this very much.
