🍩🍫🍷🍷. Now I may be wrong here but I rather think Darcy has given away his secret to his cousin? Hopefully he will discover how he has injured Jane and repair the situation before she can accept Mr Collins? THEN! Maybe Elizabeth will return his feelings and he will realise he absolutely can’t live without her? (Am I a little too optimistic?)

Hi Glynis, I hope for all that too but not too soon, please. I am enjoying the reading too much. Thankfully, we already know that this will be a long work… The characters will give us hours of pleasure thanks to the craftmanship of the author…

Great dialog! Isn’t it rude for Sir Walter to speak to the other end of the table? That is a question only. As for a bribe…. how would a Carac Tart do?

Oh, such sweet torture for Darcy with Elizabeth just a touch away at dinner and staying on the same estate. His cousin’s response “at last” may draw the attention of more than just Elizabeth Bennet. Will it be contentious conversations, will he repent of his actions separating Jane from Bingley or will he decide to let E. know how he feels? No Hunsford in sight but they are staying near enough to each other to meet if they both take walks or if he rides out while she is walking…will she walk alone or with Anne? Throwing chocolate your way!

Darcy can be such a stubborn mule, and his cousin ought to give him a few pokes to get him moving ahahahaha. Love how Anne calls him “Your Mr. Darcy”, oh Elizabeth Bennet. Someone should lock them up in a room together, heehee.

I read that entire chapter with such a grin on my face, and laughed out loud a few times (the astute Colonel, Lizzy downing the sherry, Darcy discombobulated at dinner). Such a tease for things to come. Loved it.
