I have the utmost respect for her as a woman, as a writer, and as an event planner, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t do things like… post silly pictures here!

A Bennet sister? Well it certainly, definitely wouldn’t be Lydia! No it would have to be Elizabeth. Hopefully she could teach me how to interact with people I don’t know very well and I could teach her not to believe random rakes who try to make us believe lies about a handsome, extremely handsome gentleman?

LOL I dunno Glynis, I keep thinking of how embarrassed my 13 year old son is of my 11 year old son who has very little filter. I’m afraid taking Lizzy around at any age would just be me constantly saying, “I’m sorry. She’s just a little blunt. She’s really lovely once you get to know her. Sorry, again, sorry, I don’t think there’s a thing wrong with the way you dress.”

I would adopt Lizzy, of course, because she’s loyal, clever, brave, and recognizes when she’s wrong.

Hi Christina 😉 Oh does she now? Well, true, she does … after awhile… but what about when she was 5-7 years old and someone walked by with a horrible hat. I’d be afraid she would say something!!!

I think I would love to have Lizzy as a sister as she loves to take walks especially when she needs to vent and walk off her frustrations. I like that she can express herself and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. I would enjoy walks with her.

Ooooo Mary Bennet Makeover! I like that idea. She’s probably just trying to balance out Kitty and Lydia – Mr Bennet is still her father, after all, she has to have some humor in there someone kind could bring out.

I would chose Elizabeth also b/c she is so well read I am sure our conversations would lead me to be more knowledgeable about literature & poetry especially. Her observations on people could be very insightful but I could also help temper her tendency to judge on first impressions.

I walk a lot so we could share that interest also. I average 5 miles per day in steps.

I would adopt either Mary or Jane as a sister! Mary since there’s so little known about her, and I’m curious about her – and because I think as a writer she has potential 🤔🤩
Jane, because she is serene and good at calming down conflict and because she is kind and generous with herself and loving with her family and sisters.

Yes, I think, as an introvert, Mary and Jane would just fit in with my daily comfort zone just fine. I’m sure we can get Mary to give a little grace — or in the worst case scenario sacrifice her to marry for obligation so we can sit pretty for the rest of our lives.

Although Elizabeth is my favourite, I would choose Jane as my sister because she is a constant beacon of positivity and we would NEVER argue with me, unlike Elizabeth who would point out all my deficiencies and insist that I be impertinent like her. 😊

OOooOO (first of all thank you!) but yes – that is an excellent point. I would much rather live happily not knowing all my faults. Yes… you’ve convinced me. It’s Jane for me. And – she’s so pretty, she’s sure to marry someone who will let me sit around all day.

Love the photos of you and Cass! Congratulations! As much as I love Elizabeth, I think we are too much alike in our obstinate, headstrong ways. So I would choose Jane, as she reminds me of my oldest and favourite sister!

Frankly I would rather adopt Georgiana, but I would like a pleasant and calm soul such as Jane.

The original question was supposed to be like any Austen sister, as sisters are portrayed so often in the books, but I had trouble clarifying any Austen character’s sister… hmm. It doesn’t sound complicated now, but when I was writing out that post it did! SO it counts!

I would adopt Kitty. I think she gets left out and overlooked a lot- and her coughing would not vex me. I think she would be fun to have as a little sister (because of course I would be closer to Jane and Elizabeth in age)

So your question is which sister would I chose to adopt? Well…four of the sisters are mainly paired together in their on spotlight. This leaves Mary the deep reflective child in thought who reads a great many books, but is unable to promptly respond in conversation in comparison to the others. She is unique with different qualities, that need to be developed with encouragement and patience. She maybe quiet, but she observes a lot around her and should not been as insignificant in public company of others. Appearances can be deceiving and with time she could easily become very enchanting and charismatic more than her siblings…I would adopt Mary for her potential to grow and be seen in her own light!

Catherine!!! Amen!!! I never really got the problem everyone had with Mary. At least she didn’t irresponsibly put the entire family in danger of total ruin and possible death in the poor houses!!! (That’s how I always thought about Lydia’s actions anyway! I can get behind the idea that Lydia is a victim in a sense, but her actions could have REALLY destroyed everyone – it was never funny to me!)

Yeah, I was defending Mary before but, Kitty is such an interesting character because she ACTS like Lydia is above her in power and yet she’s older. How did that happen? My only guess is that Kitty is an extremely sensitive personality and it was her strategy for how to get by!

As to your question, I would like to have Elizabeth as my sister. She will teach me a thing or two on how to be witty in front of those whom I am not familiar with. Besides that she is also sensible and intelligent and would surely defend me if there is a need for it.

I would have to choose Jane. Jane would be good when you need to see more of the good in things and a good person to go to when you need to talk. As I have two young ones she would also be a great help since Jane seems good at taking care of her neices and nephews.
