Cases, you are such a doll to come back to us with this latest chapter. It was so good! Oh, poor Lydia. I wonder what happened to her and if she was hurt or burned in the fire. And where is that scum Wickham? Oh, I wish they could go looking for her now. But first we need to have the ball and our love birds need to dance. I wonder if he will break down and tell anything to Lizzy while she is with him in the room. I would even settle for him telling her how he feels and sealing it with a kiss. Oh yummy, a kiss indeed! Romantic bursting forth here. I suspect Miss Latimer was upset more from the release she must be feeling knowing that she will not have to marry Darcy. Gosh there are so many things I want answered in the next chapter. I’ll be waiting and will check out your pics on FB in the meantime. Have a fantastic trip. You deserve it after working so hard on this one to give us our weekly fixes. Much love coming your way for a safe and enjoyable trip. Jen Red

Thank you so much, Jen! The trip is going well, with a fab family weekend celebrating my father-in-law’s 90th in Shropshire before I headed to Derbyshire yesterday.
After building up all the questions, the answers are all coming soon, I promise. I think you are right, we need a romance fix in-between though!

Squeeeee! An early post! I actually like where this chapter ends — I’m left in a position where I can imagine all manner of happy, tender moments between Darcy and Elizabeth in the utility room. I’m absolutely certain Mr. Latimer will not bother them there.
While I hope you have a wonderful time next week, I would like to offer myself as a proxy traveler for you, just in case you want to stay home and write instead of celebrating such a milestone birthday in such a delightful location. It’s a sacrifice I would be willing to make for you! 🙂 *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*

Excellent! This was such an enjoyable chapter with a delicious ending! It leads me to much speculation for what might come next. I loved the twins and their honesty. Mrs. Latimer is a wise and genuine lady. I like her. Miss Latimer may very well be ‘okay’ too. Lydia, that’s a different story. I’m left feeling bad for her and sad that she’s living as it appears she is. So many questions!

Yay I was riiiiiiiight!!!!! 😂😂😁🤣🤣 Lydia is alive!!! Okay Darcy, Bingley and the Colonel is to find Lydia – sounds like a good idea!
Now Wickham’s note makes sense, he really needs a good wolloping when they catch him!! And Bennet needs to own up to whatever secrets he has not shared when he return!
And now Miss Latimer… I can’t make her out, was it the kindness of the twins which made her break down?
Oh god, Elizabeth and Darcy together in that store room! Can it be he will ask her?! Or am I mistaken in my hopes?! Arghhh Cass!!!
Cass the tension is unbearable!!! It’s not okay we have to wait 12 days for the next part!!!! Not cool! 😤😱😱

Oh, I can’t wait for the next one! I am all anticipation for ODC’s time together in the utility room. I hope they can talk a little and Darcy can reassure Elizabeth of his feelings and wishes and that she can show him too that her feelings have changed a lot. And then the ball!!

I saw your reply to Claudine that the next chapter was up and as it was not in my mail box I went on the Internet and found it. It seems every once in awhile my mail system does not deliver your posts????
I am speculating: Miss Latimer may have someone she loves and she is crying over that situation as “things” have poured down upon her head: pressures from her father to engage and entice Mr. Darcy and pressures from her “lover” to acknowledge their love and then the twins’ poor “joke”.
I do like that Elizabeth and Darcy are holed up in a small room as his face needs tending to…now Mrs. Reynolds, don’t you have an ingredient you are missing and need to go look for in the kitchen?
Bingley: I doubt he can keep a secret but we’ll see.
Lydia: as expected but if she has been with Wickham….not pregnant? Poor deluded child. I am sure she will be a completely different Lydia when/if she is found and restored to health. But I am a little curious as to why she would not have at least approached Jane who is all goodness and kindness?
Cass, my wish for you is to have a safe and enjoyable trip. Ignore all of us demanding readers and take some time to entirely immerse yourself in friends and family in Britain. We love your work and we can wait even if all we want is to read of Darcy and Elizabeth acknowledging to each other their feeling.

Thank you for the good wishes! Trip going well and I’m finding being in the scenery I am writing about is very inspiring. I drove up to a tiny village we once stayed in earlier today because that was the church I had been picturing for Kympton, only the day had gone from blue sky to thick fog so the picture I took was pretty dire! Best laid plans and all that!

It was nice to see Lizzy and the twins interact with Mrs. Latimer and Miss Latimer. The twins’ kindness broke through all the emotions Miss Latimer was obviously holding back. It seems she is in need of friends, and maybe she will find them in this most unlikely situation.
So the gentlemen will be searching for Lydia. Hopefully they will find her before Wickham does.
And where you ended it, with Lizzy helping Darcy..I can think of some delightful scenarios that could follow.

I had to leave in a rush and go for my swim.
I love how you are taking us one way and advancing a little to then move forward a little again from a different set of characters. At times it seems that fate is playing with the characters and keeping them apart ( Lizzy wants to speak to Georgiana) or bringing them together (Darcy and Elizabeth). If Darcy and Liszt are left as lone for a bit, Liszt will not need to ask Georgiana.

Well all our speculation has been answered in regard to ‘which sister’! I’m still thinking based on your descriptions that Lydia is afraid of Wickham and what he might do to her father, her sisters or herself! I do hope you have a ‘fitting end’ for him!
As for Mrs. Latimer, I do like her! She is a practical woman who has weathered many a loss. Thank goodness she has been looking out for her daughter! I am now intrigued with what has caused Miss Latimer’s heartache and what she has closed her heart off to. Thank you for the touching scene with the twins. Their warmth of spirit must certainly save them from too strong a wrath from Bingley! LOL!
Now as to your ending of this chapter…sigh….I am sure Darcy will become all tongue-tied and Elizabeth will be all flustered. Yes, we can dream of that scene while you are away!
Have a safe and wonderful trip and best wishes to your father-in-law’s 90th birthday! My mother-in-law is turning 92 at the end of April!

I like Mrs Latimer too, Carole. She has evolved as the story was written, so I am surprised how she has turned out but think she is a nice balance. If she had been as vile as her husband they might have turned into pantomime characters!

Poor Miss Lattimer. It is a pleasure to know that she and her mother do not wish the wedding with Darcy. Hopefully, they can restrain Mr. Lattimer and prevent him from causing any difficulties. I hope the gentlemen are able to find and help Lydia. Of course, too many people know of her disgrace, so I do not see how they can restore her to her family. Perhaps Darcy will a place in Scotland he can send her to live and work. I love the thought that Mrs. Reynolds brought Lizzy to help with Darcy’s injury. It is both touching and intimate. The wait for the ball will be long, but I hope you have a good trip.

What no post unit the 21st? But I am all anticipation. Our dear couple finally get into a room for some privacy and now we have to wait? Lol, you are a tease!
Well Lydia must have got some scrupples to be starting any fire on her own, to be away from her horrid husband, in hiding no less, to be catching chickens. Hmm, I wonder if Wickham knows she is alive, I suppose that what his blackmail is about.
On the other end I am happy to see some sort of break through with Miss Larimer. I knew she was doing her father’s bidding. Can somebody just whisper in her ear while she’s having her tea and delicacy, “My dear girl, the Colonel is free.” 😉
Nice to see the gents teaming up to try to find the girl. And where has latimee been all day? Mayhap he fell off a peak on his walk… oh, I jest, of course.

This is ever so well written. I look forwar to each post. This sure leaves us all in suspense. I. Hope Mr. Altimeter does not expect a compromise marriage that will make Darcy and his daughter miserable. She is more to feel compassion for now. I do wonder about Lydia, Mr. Bennet, and Mr. Wickham. It seems the dead are not necessarily gone. There’s quite a mystery here. It seems like Lizzy and Darcy are closer to understanding each other. I sure hope this gets published.
