Ah, what a chapter. I hope no one who matters gets hurt. Love the proposal and our dear couple scenes. I wonder what Bingley was carrying. It would seyrve Wickham right if Lydia took care of him with whatever is handy.

One last chapter next week or is it just because of your trip?
Lovin’ Lizzie and Darcy together!

I don’t think it will be the final chapter next week, Jessica, though it may be. I have some loose ends to tie up. There will also be an Epilogue at some point. π
It’s because of travelling that I can’t commit to more than one next week.

Good luck on your unexpected trip and I do hope it is not something wrong in your world.
Thank you for THE CHAPTER we have all been waiting for. Elizabeth says ‘yes’ and Darcy will not listen to any of her arguments against the match. Love those embraces and kisses and glad he met her before leaving. I kept holding my breath that Wickham would show up near Pemberley and find her out of doors.

My father in law has been unwell recently so we’ve been going over to England more often (he’s on the mend, thankfully), including this Easter visit which wasn’t planned initially, and now my husband has added some work days to it, hence my being away a week.

Glad she got to see him off. Thanks for the chapter.

And…they are united, engaged how lovely and spontaneously done. This reads every week to me like the episodes of a mini series. We should contact Julian Fellows or Debbie Horsefield and have them put this on television. It is that good π

Dass, you can’t stop writing this story. Yeees I know… three or four chapters more… then an epilogue. But there is so much more in this story. Keep going – please!?! Why should there be an end? There’s our beloved couple, Lydia (and the one who has the living in kympton?), Mr. Benett and Mrs. Annesley, Bingley and Jane, the Colonel and Miss Latimer… please don’t stopp. This could be the first book of a centennial series!

Wow!!! Loved this chapter!! Darcy and Elizabeth are so sweet together!! And now for the suspense of waiting to see what happens, both for Elizabeth and for us as we await the next chapter on Friday.
And now I think I have an additional favorite rainy scene to add to Shannon’s list at Austen Variations, LOL!! π
Enjoy your travels!!

Lovely chapter. Darcy’s words to Elizabeth were so endearing. Elizabeth’s blushes were very sweet, too! Glad they got to talk before he headed to the Grange.
So what was Bingley taking with Him? A weapon? A ring? I wonder…
Looking forward to the next chapter and seeing what happens with Wickham.
Wishing you safe travels!

Hi Cass! I have been remiss in my comments because I moved and only yesterday had my internet back and then I could read the last three chapters in a row (which wasn’t so bad after all!! lol :D). What can I say? I am sooo happy ODC is finally engaged! That scene on the raining woods was so beautiful and Elizabeth saying goodbye to him so touching. I am so glad she is back at Pemberley, at least for the time being. But I am kinda of sad that this story is coming to an end. I will just have to enjoy the next few chapters. Thank you!! π

Hi Daniela!
Hope you are settling into your new home with ease! Personally, I’m not sad the story is coming to an end, I’m really happy about it π lol
I’m pleased you enjoyed the last few chapters β€
LikeLike
Ahhh! That’s a very satisfied sigh here! You do those scenes so well.
At the risk of sounding somewhat irreverant, and with absolutely no disrespect to your writing, it strikes me that kisses have been a bit like buses – you wait ages for one and then a whole load turn up at once! I’m so glad Elizabeth managed to find Darcy (or was it the other way round?) before he set off for The Grange. The farewell scene was just as lovely as the opening one.
Now what has Bungley got secreted inside his coat? Surely you’ve not given him a firearm, Cass? Or could a ring box give a noticeable bulge instead? Bungley, is this the right time (when possible clence may ensue) to be proposing? Either option is fraught with possible danger, one way or another!
And I can’t go without asking if there was a little reference to Mr. Knightley right there at the beginning when Darcy says βI cannot make pretty speeches, Elizabeth’.
LikeLike
Anji, I also thought of Mr. Knightley when reading that part. π
