Blowing Away the Cobwebs…

Hi! It’s me, Cass! I’m back from wherever I was for the last two-plus years. Did you miss me?

Ducks to avoid various missiles…

Apologies. I could blame life and all its little foibles… Yes. Let’s do that, and move swiftly on to something entirely different!

There’s a great independent café in Bath called Same Same but Different. I’ve had many a yummy breakfast there in the past, but never really given that much thought to the name.

I don’t have a photo of the exterior, so just picture a narrow, cobbled street leading uphill through the Bartlett Street Quarter towards the Assembly Rooms. Or click here, which will take you to their website. (There aren’t any photos of the exterior there either, but there are several of the delicious food on offer).

Anyway, enough waffle (can’t seem to get away from breakfast).

I have news!! Four weeks today I have a book coming out—on Thursday, 21st September. It’s an uplifting, feel-good romance, published by Canelo, and will be available in both print and digital formats.

And here’s the link. (No, not that sort of link—the connection).

New Dreams in Polkerran Point is, in fact, the novel formerly known as The Cottage in a Cornish Cove—hence the ‘same same but different’ correlation. It’s a bit like when you go and have a bit of a pamper session and shopping trip (highly recommend Bath for both, by the way). In essentials, it’s the same body with a few cosmetic enhancements (aka edits), dressed in lovely new clothing!

Here are the traditional before and after images:

New Dreams in Polkerran Point is the first in a five-book series, set in a charming Cornish village (you’ll never guess its name) and—according to my editor—featuring seaside antics, barmy locals and a hot historian!

So here we come to the main purpose of this post. If you happen to enjoy my books, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could help me out with one of the following:

  • If you read The Cottage in a Cornish Cove and wrote a review at the time (it came out in 2020—yes, that bleddy—as they say in Cornwall—year), I’d be delighted if you could repost the review once New Dreams in Polkerran Point is released on the 21st. (If you no longer have a copy of your review, and it was posted on Amazon, it may still be up there, as they do have second-hand copies of the original paperback still for sale)
  • If you didn’t read it in its former guise, thank you for your patience in waiting for this shiny new version! It’s currently available for pre-order at this link (yes, that sort of link this time):

 New Dreams in Polkerran Point

  • If you’ve already ordered either the print or digital copy, I love you (in a totally non-creepy way)
  • If you’ve already pre-ordered, thinking it’s an entirely new novel, I still love you (in an equally non-creepy way) for doing so without even stopping to read the blurb. Thankfully, it’s easy to cancel the order. (Please don’t shout at me if you did this. Remember, I love you, and it wasn’t my decision to change the title and the cover. Much as I adore the new ones, I was rather fond of the originals)!
  • If you do read New Dreams in Polkerran Point, please leave a review, or at least a rating (easy-peasy—doesn’t require a single word from you, just the click of a button)! You have no idea how much it supports authors, and it also benefits readers in helping them find titles they would enjoy (or in some cases, would rather avoid)!

So that’s that! I’ll continue the late summer ‘spring’ clean, and be back next Thursday, when we’re 3 weeks from publication day, to share news of the next book in the series, Escape to Polkerran Point (coming in early 2024).

Warmest

Cass

PS I’ll be back in Bath for the first time in ages in mid-September, and I’ll be popping into Same Same but Different to see if the breakfast is as good as I remember. I’ll let you know!

Cass, I have not read the book. It does sound interesting. I take it won’t be on Amazon.com?

It’s on .com as an eBook. I suspect it will come out later in print as that is what happened with the time travel books!
