Publication Day and a Treat on Offer!!

Well, it’s finally here. The next instalment in the Little Cornish Cove series is out today, and I’m delighted to invite you to join the locals and incomers by immersing yourself in A Fresh Start at Polkerran Point.

You can find out what it’s all about by clicking here.

Like the other books in this series of cosy, heart-warming contemporary romances, it is a standalone read, but there are many recurring characters and there’s a sub-plot running through all the books, so if you haven’t visited the ‘cove’ yet, the best place to start is with Anna’s story in New Dreams at Polkerran Point. You can find out more about that here.

You may have seen on social media recently that I was bagging up some little goodie bags to go out with the print copies to reviewers and bloggers. I’ve kept a few back to offer to those of you who read my extremely sporadic posts here, so if you’d like a print copy of A Fresh Start at Polkerran Point, along with a gift bag (contents listed below), then do join in!  The contents may seem a little random just now, but once you’ve read the book, you’ll see how they represent it and Polkerran Point!

To have the chance to own one of these (open worldwide), all you have to do is leave a comment for me, saying one of these two things:

  1. If you’re reading the series, who are your favourite characters and why?
  2. If you’re not reading the series, I’m heartily offended (joking)! I’d love to know which cover appeals to you most and why? (You’ll find larger images of the covers on the Cornish Cove tab at the top.)

OTHER BOOK NEWS

As you know, I tend to write in several genres, and I’m delighted to say that I’m just putting the finishing touches to the last book in the Cornwall series, due out in October.

Therefore, in a few weeks time, I’ll be returning to some of my other writing. Ada Bright and I will be working on the third and final instalment in our Austen Adventures time travel series (if you’re unfamiliar with these, you can read about them here), and I’ll be finishing a few other books I put aside when I was offered the Cornish romance deal.

One of these is a partially-written Austen-inspired novel, more along the lines of A Quest for Mr Darcy and Mr Darcy’s Persuasion, but not as long!!

I also have plans for another cosy romance series, this time set in the Cotswolds.

Look out for more news on all these projects throughout the year.

In the meantime, I hope to see some of you in Polkerran Point this summer! (You can just click the image below for ‘where to buy).

The contents of the goodies bags are:

  • A gorgeous, hand-made felt decoration with a seaside theme, from Cornish Homemade
  • A beautifully-made wooden pin badge with a seaside theme, from Flossy Teacake
  • A hand-crafted beaded bracelet in seaside colours, from BandzNBitz
  • A couple of seaside-themed stickers, from StickerKitten.
  • A chocolate sardine (for those who don’t eat dairy, I’m sure you can find a willing recipient)!
  • A couple of pieces of seaside rock bearing the Cornish flag.

THE BORING STUFF

Comments can be left up to midnight on Monday, 28th April 2025. Each comment will be issued a number, from which will be drawn the 3 names to receive the books and goodie bags. I will contact those people via email to establish the address to send the items to. If someone does not respond within seven days (ie by midnight Monday, 5th May 2025), another name will be selected.

I’ve enjoyed this series for awhile now. My favorite is the first book with Anna and Oliver. With Anna, it’s her taking the chance at change and moving back to Polkerran where she was happy as a child, turning the house she inherited into a B & B. With Oliver, it’s him being a private person and his stand for justice, doing things for the good of others. The other locals add to the joy of the community.

Anna is my favourite character, she was unhappy when we first met her in book one but she has found happiness with Oliver, she fits perfectly into the community and has made lots of friends.

    I love this series.

My favourite characters are Anna and Oliver, who do what they can to help their friends, wanting to help them stay in Polkerran Point. They work well together in their own lives too.

I absolutely love the fresh start cover! I’m saving up the series to read on holiday! Beautiful colours and I can taste the ice cream and hear the waves just by looking at it! (Is it here to leave the comment to enter the draw?) 💕
